Vinyl Fence Upgrade in Lynn, MA
The significance of a well-constructed fence cannot be overstated. It not only defines the boundaries of your property but also enhances its aesthetic appeal and ensures privacy. Twenty-four years ago, GEO Brothers Fence had the privilege of installing a wood fence for a cherished client in this Lynn, MA neighborhood. Fast forward to today, and we've had the honor once again to transform their space, this time with the elegance and durability of vinyl fencing.
The Evolution of Fencing – From Wood to Vinyl
Our client's original wood fence served them well, standing the test of time and New England's varied weather conditions. However, as with all things, the time came for an upgrade. Recognizing the advancements in fencing materials over the years, they opted for a more modern solution - vinyl fencing.
We recently completed the installation of a stunning 5' high vinyl privacy fence alongside a charming 4' high white vinyl picket fence. This combination not only elevated the beauty of the property but also catered to the homeowner's need for both privacy and aesthetic appeal. The vinyl privacy fence serves as a serene backdrop to their garden, providing a peaceful and private outdoor living space. In contrast, the vinyl picket fence adds a welcoming touch to the front yard, enhancing the curb appeal and inviting admiring glances from passersby. Why Vinyl Fencing?
One of the most compelling reasons our client chose to transition to vinyl fencing is its virtually maintenance-free nature. Unlike wood, which may require regular treatments and repairs, vinyl fences stand strong against the elements without needing more than an occasional cleaning to look their best. This resilience makes vinyl an ideal choice for those looking to enjoy the beauty and functionality of their fence without the upkeep.
Vinyl fencing is not only durable and low maintenance but also comes in a variety of styles and colors. This allows homeowners to customize their outdoor spaces to reflect their personal style while enjoying the practical benefits of this modern material. Why Choose GEO Brothers Fence?

We are thrilled to share details of one of our recent projects - an ornamental aluminum fence completed in January by the dedicated team at GEO Brothers Fence. This project was an exciting challenge for us as it was located right on the water in the city of Lynn, Massachusetts.
The project began with our client expressing the need for a fence that would not only provide security but also blend seamlessly with the scenic waterfront surroundings. Our solution? An ornamental aluminum fence, known for its durability, low maintenance, and aesthetic appeal. Despite the winter weather in January, our team was undeterred. We focused on ensuring each section of the fence was installed securely, taking into account the unique terrain and weather conditions of the waterfront location. The result was a sturdy, functional fence that perfectly matched the beautiful backdrop of the Lynn waterscape.
What sets an ornamental aluminum fence apart is its ability to offer the look of traditional wrought iron fences without the high cost and maintenance. They are resistant to rust, corrosion, and the harsh New England winter weather, making them an excellent choice for properties near water bodies.
We chose a design with intricate details to add a touch of elegance to the property. The black color of the fence provided a striking contrast to the area outdoor features enhancing the overall look of the property. At GEO Brothers Fence, we understand that a fence is more than just a boundary; it's an extension of your home. It adds to the curb appeal and value of your property. That's why we take pride in delivering quality workmanship and personalized service to meet and exceed our clients' expectations. Our ornamental aluminum fence project in Lynn, MA is a testament to our commitment to providing top-quality fencing solutions. We are proud of our team's dedication and the stunning end result. Dog Fencing
Oh, your dog’s an escape artist? I’ll fix that!
I got a call from a frantic woman at her wit’s end. No matter what she did, her Husky/Shepherd mix continued to get out of her yard and wreak havoc throughout the neighborhood. I went to her house and told her, “No problem.” I was an expert! I assessed the situation and saw she had a mismatch of different types of fences at different heights. I met the dog, which was athletic and highly energetic. I told her we needed to install a 6-foot fence, and we would make sure there were absolutely no spaces at all for escape! The job cost about $5,000. I told her I would make sure the dog couldn’t get out. She hired us, and we started work immediately. When we finished, we called the homeowner out to look at the impenetrable wall we had built, all of us wearing a smug grin of pride. “Well, let him out! Let’s see if he likes it,” I said. The dog bounded out like a bull in a china shop. His fur was puffed up, electrified with excitement. He started frantically running up and down the fence, his paws tearing up the ground, realizing he could not get out; his old escape hatches were gone! His frantic pace back and forth continued. Then, like a shooting star, he sprinted right, shot back to the left, leaped on top of a brick backyard fireplace, and sprung over the fence. Gone! Immediate shock and horror fell on everyone’s faces as we chased the dog down the middle of the street. The customer frantically looked at me: “I just spent $5,000, and he got out in 5 minutes!” I said, “Sorry, but I think you have to get rid of that built-in barbecue.” I guess the dog likes his freedom! Lesson learned. Here at Geo Brothers Fence, we work with our customers to provide customized fencing that’s right for you. If you have a similar situation with animals getting out (or in!), call us at (978) 998-0660 , and we’d be happy to provide you with a free estimate. Protecting your commercial property from intruders should be at the top of every business owner’s list. There are several options for you to consider when adding protection to your commercial property. Make sure you have all the necessary information before making an informed decision. Here are some of the best ways for you to protect your property.
Cameras: Several options will help you protect your property from simple to sophisticated cameras. While cameras are great for protecting your commercial property, this form of protection typically only allows you to record criminal acts that are already taking place. You can then use that footage to try and find the culprit. Sometimes having cameras on the premises will deter a criminal from acting in the first place, but not always. Cost: When it comes to the cost of this form of protection for your commercial property, it can vary widely. It depends on how many cameras you plan to install and how high-end they will be. A quote from a professional security camera company is best to determine what will work best for you and your business. Dog: A guard dog can be an affordable form of security for your commercial property, but it does come with some risks. There is always the possibility that even the best dog will attack someone and leave you with a lawsuit. One advantage of a guard dog is that it isn’t as much of a passive form of security as a camera. Many thieves and vandals won’t want the hassle of dealing with a guard dog. The loud barking and growling can scare them. If not, the dog will usually prevent the crime by acting aggressively toward the culprit. Cost: The cost of this form of protection is relatively cheap. You will need to pay for the regular care of a dog, such as veterinary care, food, and water. Fence: Commercial fencing can be an excellent barrier to outsiders and crime. Depending on the type of fence, it can work well to keep those you don’t want in your business on the outside. Cost: The initial installation can be costly, but there isn’t typically much upkeep cost with a fence. Some criminals will avoid the hassle of getting around the fence altogether. A high, sturdy fence is the best for protecting commercial property. For more information, please call us at Geo Brother’s Fence for a quote on what will work best for you and your business. Keep Frost Heaves in Check
New England winters can wreak havoc on your fence. Frost heaves left unchecked or unrepaired may lead to leaning fence posts or gates no longer working correctly. Here’s what you should do:
1) Level each fence post after the winter is over, and the ground is no longer frozen 2) Tamp the soil around each post with a bar tamp to firm up the foundation 3) Add sand or stone dust around the post; tamp this down as well 4) Repeat numbers 1-3 periodically to keep your fence straight, strong, and working order for years to come. Don’t hesitate to call us for help. These tips are meant to be easy enough for any of our customers to complete, but we understand other life demands may take precedent. As always, we would be happy to provide you with a free estimate on any fence repair or maintenance services. Just call us at 781-599-6531 to schedule an appointment! How to Extend the Life of a Wood Fence
The lifespan of a fence depends on you. A typical cedar wood fence is built to last 20-25 years, but there are things homeowners can do to extend the life of their fence. For many of our customers, we know that keeping children and pets safe is the main objective.
But many times, full-fence replacement is not a viable option. Finances may be an obstacle at the moment. Or maybe you’re selling your home soon, and your fence isn’t in significant disrepair but could still use a little work. Each customer’s situation is different. Here are three options for repairing and prolonging your wood fence. Broken fence post? Here’s a simple fix to deter further damage. For a falling fence, the first thing to be done is to brace the fence post to limit additional damage. Make sure you have:
Prolong your fence’s life – keep it looking new nearly 20 years later! The tools you’ll need:
Springtime, the time for fence repair.
Ice dams, wind storms, blizzards, frost heaves, and snow are wreaking havoc on us and our homes and businesses. Spring will come inevitably. When it does show up, the light will shed on the many problems property owners have in store.
Areas of concern will be roofing, gutters, downspouts, asphalt, awns, basement flooding, and especially fences. Snow has been shoveled, piled, and plowed on any fence by Bob, your Neighbor, and Mother Nature herself. It has not only been snow, but record low temperatures, which cause frost heaves that push and pull posts and undermine the fence’s level and stability. And I would bet your gates out of whack just like your back – from all that shoveling. Most fences will need minor adjustments and gates to be rehung. Repairs can be made, so have no fear. After the melt, give us a shout – we’ll come right out. Estimate, repair – have no despair! Geo Brothers Fence knows how to repair, and we care! Give us a call today! (978) 998-0660 The Purpose of a Fence
A fence can serve many purposes for a home or business. Some fences are installed for privacy, while others may be put in for security reasons. A fence can also help to protect property from trespassing and vandalism. In some cases, a fence may also be used to provide shade or wind protection.
